International Curators Program

Each year, Artspace hosts visiting artists, curators, writers, art historians and academics from around the world. These relationships are key to expanding dialogues and developing partnerships, as well as creating global opportunities and professional networks for Australian artists.

Artspace’s International Curators Program focuses on curatorial research, advocacy, and public engagement. All international projects are grounded in the principle of reciprocity. Through collaborative partnerships with international institutions and cultural organisations, the program enables the exchange of knowledge, networks, and artistic practices, strengthening Australia’s position within global contemporary art discourse.

The program supports visiting international curators through research visits, studio visits with artists, public programs, and professional exchange, contributing meaningfully to contemporary practice in Australia.

The International Curators Program is developed and presented by Artspace with the support of national and international partners, including Mori Art Museum’s Global Art Professionals Development Project, alongside key contributions from the Goethe-Institut Australia.
