Join acclaimed artist Khaled Sabsabi and curator Michael Dagostino for a wide-ranging conversation examining the themes, influences and experiences that inform Sabsabi's work. Together they will discuss recent exhibitions, enduring questions within the artist's oeuvre, and the thinking behind their presentation for the Australia Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

Marking their first public conversation in Australia following the opening of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Sabsabi and Dagostino will share insights into the development of conference of one's self and khalil – two major new works presented across the Australia Pavilion and the Biennale's international exhibition In Minor Keys. The event will consider the artistic, cultural and spiritual currents that run through Sabsabi's practice, from migration and memory to community, cultural exchange and belonging.

Presented in partnership with Arts & Cultural Exchange (ACE), the event will be introduced by Victor Wang, Executive Director of Artspace, and moderated by Anne Loxley, Executive Director of ACE, alongside Kon Gouriotis OAM, publisher of Artist Profile. This special event offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of Australia's most significant contemporary artists.
