Rethinking Our Relations
When | Friday 27 July, 3pm – 5pm
Location | Artspace, Level 2, Seminar Room
Rethinking Our Relations is conceived as an open-ended discussion reflecting on the 18th Biennale of Sydney – all our relations - curated by Catherine de Zegher and Gerald McMaster. With this year’s incarnation of the biennale focusing on ‘a renewed attention to how things connect, how we relate to each other and to the world we inhabit’ the forum will consider how the biennale might connect with or fail to connect with the wider specificities and arts community of Sydney as well as how it might follow or depart from previous incarnations of the Sydney Biennale.
The discussion is intended as a series of responses and ensuing discussion that might be highly subjective, even contentious, as a means to propose a multiplicity of positions and encounters between the participants and audience alike. Central to these discussions are transparent, discursive and subjective approaches to art criticism and discourse that seeks to expand upon the more official channels for considering the propositions and positions advocated within the Biennale.
Rethinking Our Relations is a free event that will be presented upstairs from Artspace.
