The Artspace Artist Multiple program was launched in 2007 with Shaun Gladwell’s Guide to Recent Architecture: Fountains (excerpt) and continued in 2008 with Caroline Rothwell’s Crop Seed (poppy) and in 2009 with Jonathan Jones’ skins or shirts. Under this program one exhibiting artist each year produces and donates a limited edition work to raise funds for Artspace programs.
The 2011 Artspace Artist Multiple has been produced and developed by Sydney-based artist Justene Williams, whose exhibition Hot Air Hillbilly Weekend Workshop was one of the highlights of the Artspace 2011 gallery program. Available in a limited edition of eight this beautifully presented multiple contains an excerpt from Williams’ film Piss Chair on a USB flash drive, photographic prints from Piss Chair and Dom Doll Death and a hand-painted 375ml bottle of Bollinger champagne.
