The 2009 Artspace Artist Multiple has been produced and developed by Sydney-based artist Jonathan Jones, whose exhibition untitled [heads or tails] was one of the highlights of Artspace’s 2008 program. Available in a limited edition of 12, skins or shirts is an inflatable fabric cube (made from material cut from shirts belonging to the artist's grandfather) activated by a small fan and ring of lights in the base. The void or inflatable space created between light and material is a space of imaginative potential, acting something like a memory where form is malleable, fluid and changeable.
