ARTSPACE screening

Artspace Public Programs facilitate dynamic and rigorous critical engagement between artists, writers, theorists and audiences. The programs focus on emerging ideas in contemporary art and culture, aiming to provide platforms for discussion that result both in the development of new critical contexts for contemporary art in Australia and globally as well as in the enhanced engagement of wider audiences with new practices and ideas in art.

Artspace Public Programs include regular symposia and conference events, often presented in partnership with peer organisations and educational institutions.

Building upon an expanded Studio Residency Program, Artspace also facilitates dialogue and exchange between visiting artists and their local counterparts and audiences through a series of informal artist-discussion events hosted in the Artspace galleries. These events bring Artspace Studio Residency artists into public conversation with invited local artists, discussing respective ideas, practices and experiences
