2023 NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) Recipient
Morgan Hogg
The NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging), valued at $30,000, is offered by the NSW Government through Create NSW to enable a visual artist at the beginning of their career to undertake a self-directed program of professional development.
The finalist exhibition will be co-presented by Artspace at Carriageworks between 27 July – 27 August while our home at The Gunnery undergoes major redevelopment. This edition will be co-curated by Artspace’s Executive Director, Alexie Glass-Kantor; Curator, Talia Linz; Associate Curator, Sarah Rose; and Carriageworks’ Associate Curator, Visual Arts, Stephanie Berlangieri.
The six 2023 NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) finalists are: Maddison Gibbs, Morgan Hogg, Nadia Odlum, EJ Son, Natalie Quan Yau Tso, and Min Wong.
Each year, Create NSW convenes a judging panel of esteemed colleagues to assess the highly competitive pool of applications and select the exhibition finalists and the Fellowship recipient. Curators Alexie Glass-Kantor, Talia Linz, Sarah Rose and Stephanie Berlangieri will work closely with each of the artists through the development of the exhibition. Of the 6 artists, one finalist will be awarded the Fellowship at the opening night of the exhibition, Wednesday 26 July, 2023.
The 2023 NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) is developed and curated by Artspace, Sydney, in partnership with the NSW Government through Create NSW, and presented with Carriageworks.
