The Gallery Program involving both exhibition and performance projects is developed by the Executive Director and Curator in accordance with Artspace's commitment to advancing new practices in installation, performance and media art. The program incorporates solo, collaborative and group projects, as well as one-off performance and sound events and screenings. It forges, encourages and investigates relationships between local, national and international practices, and reflects an emphasis upon interdisciplinary and site-specific practices. As Artspace prioritises artist research and development, the majority of the work presented in the Gallery Program is developed specifically for Artspace and supported via the Artspace Residency Program. The Artspace Gallery Program is guided by a commitment to cultural diversity and to a principle of support for artists ranging from early career to established practitioners. Artspace often collaborates with peer organisations nationally and internationally in the development of new projects, as well as with independent curators.
