Relaunching this summer, Artspace One Year Studio Program

Applications now open for studio residencies

Relaunching this summer, Artspace is excited to announce that applications for our One Year Studio Program are now open. As part of The Gunnery transformation, we are thrilled to be offering an increase from 7 to 10 revitalised rent-free studios to artists and collectives. For the first time in the organisation's history we have also secured a 35-year sublease on the landmark heritage-listed building, enabling our vision to support 350 artists with free studios over the next 35 years.

A central tenet of Artspace's program, the studio residencies aim to reflect the diversity of contemporary artistic practice. The One Year Studio Program offers artists the space to work freely and test new ideas, as well as providing critical support, ongoing advocacy, professional development and opportunities to engage with our national and international peer networks.

The contracted residency period is from February 2024 to February 2025, however this year the selected artists will commence with the reopening of Artspace in The Gunnery building in late 2023.
