Dear Friends,

We are reaching out to update you about changes to our current and future programming that have transpired subsequent to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Acting under the current advice of the Australian and NSW State Government, our gallery will remain open to the public, regular hours, until further notice.

The 22nd Biennale of Sydney: NIRIN, along with Kevin Diallo’s Blue, are two spectacular shows we are currently exhibiting – and we would encourage you to come and check them out.

In the interest of public health and safety, and following Government recommendations, we will not be holding any further public programs, events or large gatherings until it is deemed safe to do so.

We have also made the very difficult decision to postpone this year’s edition of VOLUME 2020 | Another Art Book Fair, along with BOOK MACHINE, which was scheduled to run from 26–28 of June.

While we remain open to the public, we will be taking the following measures to minimise the risk to health and safety:

Ensuring there are only small numbers of people in the gallery space at any given time, and that visitors comply with social distancing of 1.5 metres
Hand sanitisers and disinfectant wipes will be visible and available at front of house, visitors will be encouraged to make use of these.
We have increased regular cleaning measures within the gallery to maintain a hygienic environment.
Our staff have been have been advised on best hygiene practises, and are following risk reducing measures such as maintaining clean workspaces and social distancing.
While we all practise distancing ourselves socially, we can't imagine a world where we distance ourselves from the artists and ideas of our time. And in that spirit, we have taken cue from the current situation to explore programming for the near future that will help us continue to connect artists and audiences, share knowledge, and support the production and presentation of contemporary art.

As the situation changes every day, we will be sure to provide updates to any further major changes to our programming. Though we will be making these updates here, we would also advise you follow us on social media (@artspacesydney) and sign up to our mailing list for the latest information about our programming under the current circumstances as it transpires.
